Checking specific collisions

I have a part with bores that are not fully designed. This causes a collision with the cutter during collision checking. I want to accept this conflict, so what should I do?

There are various possibilities for filtering the collision list view. Depending on the application, this can give you faster access to the desired information.

Here's how you do it


Start the machine simulation after checking the machine. Select the corresponding entry in the Job Manager and click "machine simulation." The "Machine control panel" dialog opens.


Click "Detail" (display machining sequence and conflicts). The "Machining sequence and conflicts" dialog opens.


Now select the "tool…" command in the context menu in the "Reason" tab. The entries in the structure tree are now sorted by tool components on the uppermost level. This provides you with a grouping where you can easily distinguish at a glance between cutter collisions and other conflicts.


The filter buttons can also be used to temporarily hide specific individual conflict types. Generally, the following rules apply: Before you accept conflicts, first correct those conflicts that are clearly unacceptable, because the corresponding corrections for the affected toolpaths will reset the check status.


Now correct the conflicts not involving cutters by changing the clamping position, clamping devices, tilt direction or tools used. Perform a renewed collision check and evaluate any remaining conflicts. Mark the corresponding entry. The conflict is shown on the part in the display window.


For better clarity, all elements without conflicts can also be hidden in the left area of the conflict list. This is done by clicking "Hide conflict-free elements." You can also select specific tools or toolpaths here that you want to display conflicts for.


If you want to accept a conflict, select the "Accept" command for the entry in the context menu. If you want to accept all conflicts for a node at once, select the "Accept all conflicts" command in the node context menu.


Then display all accepted conflicts for checking. This is done by deactivating the "Show accepted conflicts" button. The list should now be empty.


The NC program can be displayed in sections from program begin to program end. This is done by clicking the "Diagram" tab. You can also jump to the corresponding position in the part with a mouse click on the progress bar.

The processing of NC programs in which the user has accepted collisions or distances below the protection allowance (known as hazardous approaches) for individual machine components previously detected by the system is at the user's own risk.
